"The impudence, Borvis thought. These blasted photographers just had to be early and they had the impudence to demand that the photo shoot start as they arrived. As if the heads of state of two nations didnt have anything more important to do than get their pictures taken in their wedding clothes. Of course, because of the fact the photographers were early, the females of the house were even later than females are by nature inclined to be. The man that Borvis hadnt the foggiest what his name was, but Borvis had pegged him the Chief of Nitwits, oozed over. I think while we wait for the Lady Tiarem, well taken a few shoots of you in your outfit. Kay? Good, stand there.
Borvis glanced up at the stairwell in the vague hope that his intended would come down the stairs, and draw these vampires away from him. After all it was the bride that everybody was really interested in, but no such luck. There was only Anya arguing over something with the tailor; whatever it was it seemed to have been settled and the tailor headed back upstairs. Anya started to follow, but then paused in front of a mirror and pined up her hair and muttered something, just as her mother had many years ago.
Borvis, how do I look?
Borvis who had been, frankly admiring his reflection in tthe overly ornate mirror, Do you really need that answered? Lovely, as you ever are, Kjær. Have you grown as vain as I?
Kjær gave small controlled smile, Im just nervous about all this.
Its just a photo shoot, all you have to do is stand there, whats to be nervous about? Its not like its the wedding.
Oh, but it is that its a part of the wedding, you wear the dress, you graze in bliss at your love, and you kiss. All this weeks before the ceremony, and what for? To make the bride nervous.
Or to make sure the bride isnt going to run off, shell want to get her moneys worth out of those pictures.
Hah, she said dryly as she glided down to the landing and glanced in the mirror. She frowned at the reflection and then at Borvis, My hairs come undone and you didnt even tell me.
Well, I always liked it better that way.
Impuwdeance, came the muffled voice as she pined it back into place. It will do. Will you take me down?
And do try to smile for pitys sake Borvis, even though your not going to be in the picures. You ought to give it a try, you never know you might like it. There you see, you can smile.
A costume inspired partially on Vanamondes clothes from Girl Genius, the musical movie 1776 (namely all those loverly gentlemen from the south), and another one of my characters clothes. Borvis does not smile easily so I had to use a reference of Alan Rickman smiling (thus, I had look at a lot of Rickman pictures. Oh how I suffer for my art!).
